4TH AUGUST, 2014

Hello! Yours Truly is back after about a week's break in transmission. Sorry, it is not my fault. There has been all sorts of network failures in town- the telecom network providers, the electricity supply company, security(resulting in Boko Haram mayhem in the far North-Eastern part of our dear country) and in the health sector in form of Ebola.

Ouch! Talking about Ebola.Hmmmmmmm....the fear of Ebola is the beginning of wisdom, because health is not only wealth but wisdom.I hereby seize a golden opportunity to reproduce verbatim with kind permission, the text message sent to me from the Ministry of Health concerning the monstrous Ebola:
''Contact with blood, sweat, urine and semen of infected
persons/bats/monkeys transmits Ebola.Symptoms: Fever,                                                                        vomiting, diarrhea and bleeding. Wash hands always                                                                              and stay alert''.
A word they say, is enough for the wise. But how alert can the common man be? Were the Government and the Ministry of Health to be alert by taking the necessary internationally recognized precautionary measures, the likes of late Patrick Sawyer(may his soul rest in p...) would not have been packaged and sent to us to spread the disease like wildfire! Talk of network failure in the health sector.Yours Truly even heard in the news that our dear President and commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic...and his entourage were stopped for the compulsory and necessary routine check-up in the United States of America.Trust them, they are not respecters of neither persons, positions nor presidents. The presidency quickly came out to deny the same report. But, most of us know that in this clime, ''no'' means ''yes'', and ''yes'', ''no''.

Hmmmmmmmm...still on this Ebola. Now, somethings are not clear to Yours Truly in that message above. The bleeding mentioned therein,is it from the mouth, nose, ears, anus or the yonder place? And, what if an individual catches the normal, ordinary cold or fever? I imagine a scenario whereby a person with malaria fever visits a pharmaceutical store or a clinic for treatment and on announcing, ''please I have fever and need some medic...'' and all the medical personnel there taking to their heels, running helter skelter, screaming,''he has Ebola, run for your dear lives!!!'''

Oh my goodness! This is not funny one bit.So, our prayers should even be:''Dear Lord, may fever resulting into vomiting or diarrhea never come near my dwelling place, both now and forever.Amen''.Because the stigmatization alone can make one catch the virus.

Okay, what about avoiding contact with the sweat of infected persons? Have you been in our commercial buses before?Oh my God! The manner in which passengers are being jam-packed like iced fish prepared to be shipped and sold. How can the commuters avoid contact with one another's sweat since the nature of the sitting arrangements not only make their bodies to necessarily touch but have them rubbing hard against one another? And since the vehicles are more often than not, filled to the brim without any breathing space having some passengers standing and/or hanging, how can contact with sweat be prevented? Oh my! And our kind of weather that makes sweating inevitable!

This is Yours Truly's further observation: How about sneezing? What happens when an infected person sitting close to someone sneezes? Oh my! I don't want to imagine the result.

Perhaps, the Ministry should occupy itself with the task of providing the citizenry with oral and nasal masks to prevent some negative eventualities.

We are beginning to glorify this Ebola too much sef. As for me and my household oooo, no weapon fashioned against us in the form of any deadly, ugly, gorillous, monstrous, chimpanzeous Ebola can prosper.Someone who has any iota of faith would agree with me and say AMEN to that .Amen?

Keep watching out for further and true observations.

Stay True.

Yours Truly,

................................
